Priscilla Tsai, the CEO and founder of Cocokind, recognized this in the beauty industry and took her shot at bridging the gap between trustworthy skincare and an individualized, simplified routine for people with sensitive and acne prone skin. We are so overpowered by the sheer amount of skincare that is available to us today, it can be hard to know what is actually good for our skin - and what works for it, too. It’s also fragrance-free and formulated to remove stubborn makeup (including waterproof mascara). In the age of “clean” aesthetics and lengthy skincare regimens, it’s easy to get swept away in self-care chaos. Paula's Choice Omega + Complex Cleansing Balm: Packed with jojoba and meadowfoam seed, the Omega + Complex Cleansing Balm ($28) from Paula's Choice is nourishing, comforting, and helps to replenish dry or stressed skin. Try it if you’re extremely dry or sensitive. The balm is slightly thicker than a classic oil, and it seems to hold better on the skin after rinsing. The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: The Inkey List's Oat Cleansing Balm ($10) also contains soothing oat extract, plus ceramides to support a healthy skin barrier. It’s lightweight but really nourishing, so it's a nice pick for balanced to dry skin types. Laneige Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser: As the name suggests, Laneige's Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser ($34) is almost like a milky oil hybrid that glides across the skin, dissolving all makeup, skincare, and sunscreen. You could probably find a cleansing oil for cheaper, but when you consider efficacy and experience, I think the Cocokind Oil to Milk cleanser is worth the extra dollars. It contains great ingredients, comes in a thoughtful sugarcane recyclable tube, and does exactly what it says it will. The Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser is $18 for 2.9 fl oz, which I think is decent for a high-quality product. The formula-rich in organic oils and fermented oat extract-begins as a balm and transforms into a milk, whisking away dirt, makeup, skincare, and sunscreen like a dream. I also want to point out that the consistency of this product is quite thick, so it’s not as runny/drippy/messy as others-a big yes from me. For me, this looked like a secondary gel cleanser, serum, and moisturizer. You can remove the cleanser with warm water or a damp cloth (or both, depending on your preference), before carrying on with the remainder of your routine. Next, add a little water to emulsify, ensuring that all tricky spots like the eyes and corners of the nose have been properly seen to. I personally like to seize this opportunity to perform a mini facial massage, too. This allows the formula to really break down everything that’s accumulated on your face throughout the day without being washed down the drain. There’s no trick here except to massage the product into clean, dry skin (but wet hands are fine). And fun fact: Despite all the oat inclusions, the formula is gluten-free. Oatmeal in skincare is proven to have an anti-inflammatory effect while reducing itchiness and sensitivity, making it a great formula for sensitive skin types. There’s also a prebiotic fermented oat extract to help support healthy barrier function. It’s formulated on a base of sunflower seed oil, grapeseed oil, baobab oil, and oat kernel oil-all of which work to dissolve oil-based skincare and makeup products. The Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser has a relatively short ingredients list, but everything that is included serves a purpose. When a product is this good I feel it’s important to share, so I’ve compiled all my detailed thoughts for you below. It’s comforting and effective, plus it works across a multitude of skin types. I had traditionally steered clear, as my skin is so oily and prone to breakouts-but once I experienced it, I was hooked.Ĭocokind’s Oil to Milk Cleanser has been on my radar for a while (it has rave reviews online) although I hadn’t tried it until recently. Never before had something so easily removed my sunscreen, foundation, and mascara. The first time I ever tried an oil cleanser I was floored. Keep reading for our full product review. We put Cocokind's Oil to Milk Cleanser to the test after receiving a complimentary sample from the brand.
